Difference between ELECOM thumb-operated Bluetooth-capeable trackballs?

#1 Post by MX-16_fan »

Japanese company ELECOM produces some high-quality trackballs that seem to work nicely with Linux-based operating systems (http://www2.elecom.co.jp.e.gj.hp.transe ... trackball/). One of their models has been said to be the best-selling trackball worldwide.

Some of their trackballs have a fantastic multi-connectivity feature which I haven't seen before: They can be connected either

* via cable,
* via proprietary 2.4 GHz transmitter or
* via Bluetooth.

On their website, they advertise a nice thumb-operated model named "M-XPT1MRBK" (http://www2.elecom.co.jp.e.gj.hp.transe ... 1MRBK.html).

Strange thing is, there's an identical-looking model named "M-XPT1MRXBK".

I can't figure out what the difference is, and whether one is newer (hence not yet on the website) than the other. I guess it might be worth figuring out the difference, as some people claim that ELECOM's newer models are much better than the older ones.

Does anyone here happen to like trackballs - anyone who can figure out what the difference might be?

Greetings, and thanks in advance for any answer, Joe
