The underlying question is actually a good one.Gordon Cooper wrote: ↑Sat Jun 16, 2018 6:54 pm... you, go to the Menu and turn Conky Offturtlebay777 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 16, 2018 6:00 pm ... Conky .... looking for any way to remove it completely from my computer.
Let's try to rephrase this question:
How can I uninstall an application, which was provided by MX Linux as "MX Linux App"?
And this question seems simple at first, but it is not.
Simply not using the application is not the answer to the question asked.
The reason why this is difficult to answer is that the package mechanism treats all MX apps equally. That means, to put it simply, if I uninstall a "MX Apps", I may also uninstall all other MX Apps, or make the system unusable.
Of course there are manual tricks and workarounds how I can do that.
But for the normal user this is not so easy.
Example:
If the user does not need Samba because he does not have a Samba network, he still cannot simply uninstall Samba.
Behind the question is therefore much more than appears at first glance.
I therefore think we should discuss this a little more internally in order to show possible simple alternatives and solutions for answering such a question.

Re Conky, it has a pause parameter. In autostart I use
Code: Select all
conky -p 5

After a In Settings > System > Conky Toggle
it turned off Conky for me.
Never see it again, unless I turn it on again.
Code: Select all
sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade
it turned off Conky for me.
