I'll run Linux

Heh, I had a chuckle about this particular topic someone posted on the EDS facebook group.

For those not in the know, EDS is short for Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/eds-types/), a genetic tissue disorder, which is incurable. I have the hypermobile type, meaning I am too bendy and my joints are more prone to pop out (mostly partially thank goodness, I haven't had a full dislocation yet *knocks on wood*). Some of those with hEDS are horizontal 23/7, that's pretty bad. For me: I can no longer do my regular job as a home aid (I have my own now, in fact) and can only handle about 8-9 hours in a week of desk work, which makes the future quite uncertain.

Anyway, that is what it is and means to me in a nutshell.

Someone on the EDS group posted this:

"Sometimes... I wish that I could do a reboot, just like a computer. Remove all the cookies, viruses, unneeded files, history, broken software and such and continue nicely cleaned out. Oh, and replace and update some hardware left and right. "

My reply:

"I'll run Linux, boots a lot faster and runs longer without issues. It is mostly unaffected by viruses and... well read around about it. ;) A lot more robust. I think we are all running Windows.. just some of us run on Vista.. that's a disaster... :azn: "

I remember Vista... oof.

sometimes i think im running on commodore 64, (remember them, i loved mine)

i had guillain barre syndrome back in '93. it left me with a limp and weakened muscles in legs and arms.
i got out my wheelchair and got a nightshift job toughening glass of all things. i did that for 12 years until i was forced to retire as muscles got worse.

so yea, how can i run linux and get a good running system lol

LOL nope.. I was lucky, my dad was very interested in computer stuff so we had computers in the house from quite early on. I remember helping my teacher with c64 lessons. Our grading system goes from 1-10, 10 being the best grade you can get.. that was the ONLY time that I got a 10 on my quarterly report card.
