Mint is Ubuntu-based, but you wish to add a Debian-based distro's repo to Mint?

Mixing MX 17 repos with an Ubuntu based Linux Mint will probably lead to breakages for at least some packages. There's an LMDE 2 Debian-based version, but that's based on Jessie, so you'd want MX 15/16 for that. Stretch-based LMDE 3 was still in development the last time I looked.

For MX 17, we now also have an mx-archive-keyring package that adds the key when installed: http://mxrepo.com/mx/repo/pool/main/m/m ... e-keyring/
