Don't hold your breath for this one, buster's only up to 1:5.4.4-1 now. I can take a look but probably not until later in the week...
I tried rebuilding the squeeze-backports (also 5.4.4-1) version a couple weeks ago to re-enable style-oxygen. It took backporting seven packages from buster (no, they weren't available in squeeze-backports) to get it to start the build. After almost 7.5 hours building on 4 cores it crapped out during dh_install-arch being unable to move a file (that's not there) and I haven't been able to figure out where in the build that file is specified to be moved. It appears to happen during either mh_installpoms or mh_installjar
Yes, I did a recursive grep for it. If I can track down why it's failing I may try again...

I wonder how some backports are really built.

azrielle,
Don't sweat it. We don't mind diving in. That's why we're here.

Exactly. That was info for Mike since he said he might look at it. No sense having him spend hours needlessly only to run into that same error.

I didn't build any extra plugins; I'll check to see if there are any extra in upstream Debian.

You need to mention where you are seeing these 2.7 plugins, since 2.7 is not available in Debian.

Nodejs 8.9.4 for MX 15/16 and 17.

Featherpad 0.7.1~git20180206, adds option to show current character position in current line in statitics, like "79", and to also show vertical grid line at user-selected posittion, such as 80 characters. Helps a lot for editing Debian packaging text files.

Hmmm...guidelines don't show up, no matter what monospaced font I choose. Something must be buggy there...
Edit: it's a feature, not a bug! The guideline only shows up if you have syntax highlighting on and you open a file that featherpadpad detects has a syntax, like a debian/control file.
