Ocenaudio: Request

#1 Post by manyroads »

Is it possible to have ocenaudio 3.6 added to the TestRepos? It may be found here: http://www.ocenaudio.com/download
Thank you!

No.
The source code is not available, and the license does not authorize distribution.

Manyroads did you get one of the downloads to work? In 18.3 I am getting "ocenaudio: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

I generally try to use Audacity but I heard OcenAudio being recommended on DestinationLinux podcast and I'd like to try it.

OcenAudio works fine for me just installing the .deb file from their website (on Debian, haven't installed it on MX). I'm not convinced it's any better than Audacity but the GUI is prettier.

Does your system actually have that libssl file?
Also make sure you download the file for Debian 9 as that's what MX is based on.

Well duh, yesterday I downloaded what I thought was the same file and it didn't work, but today I redownloaded and the file was incremented by 1 in the version number, and it worked. Thanks sunrat!
