Request: OpenVSP 3.22.0

#1 Post by app4soft »

Package: openvsp
Version: 3.22.0 (main)
Target: MX-19.x OpenVSP is a parametric aircraft geometry tool. OpenVSP allows the user to create a 3D model of an aircraft defined by common engineering parameters. This model can be processed into formats suitable for engineering analysis. The predecessors to OpenVSP have been developed by JR Gloudemans and others for NASA since the early 1990's. In January 2012, OpenVSP was released as an open source project under the NOSA 1.3 license. The first open source version was 2.0.0.

Quite busy with easier backports. Programs where there are no existing Debian or Ubuntu packages usually take a lot of effort and time, with many errors along the way, until I can package them from scratch like this. We could use some help on the packaging team, actually.

As for now OpenVSP Team started to provide DEB for Ubuntu 18.04, for example here is latest build: Take a look on build & packaging instruction inside `.travis.yml` Also take look on 3rd-party building scripts for Ubuntu 18.04 (LinuxMint 19.2) Hope, this would helps to complete this task :crossfingers:

Hi Stevo, how can I learn to package for MX? You indicate that it's easier when there is existing Debian or Ubuntu packages. I will do a search on Debian packaging but I am wondering what I need to learn to be specific to MX or antiX. If I learn to package in Debian will that be sufficient for MX?
