Oh, I also noticed that clicktician switched from the modesetting driver to "intel", which you can also do in the MX Tweak applet.

Yup. After I used MX Tweak to set my drivers to Intel, and installed the 965 drivers I have glorious gpu acceleration in everything that matters to me. I'm no genius, I just do what Stevo and the dev team tell me and enjoy the magic. My motto is "who cares how it works, let's drive." Lol.

The System 76 Galago Pro and Gazelle are very recent hardware, so they can reliably run the latest kernels. Don't be afraid of them. And since you can easily re-install PoP!_Os in a few moments, there's no reason not to try other distros like MX.
