Had the same expansion of a separator. Also panel background changed to transparent from the sold color I had as default. Other than that the backup was identical to my default.

Yeah, it clearly is not perfect. I exported the panels from my desktop to a laptop, and the nice short one with autohide where I keep a bunch of apps I use all the time for office work ended up there with no additional work, though extended all across the bottom on 1 of 2 tries.

But it has some interest for me nevertheless, and I think we might be able to improve or borrow from it.

This just came up on the Xfce Forum, which made me think of this again. Home page is here:

Is there any argument against getting this into the testing repo at least?

As long as it doesn't conflict with D_O's current method of saving panel configs...

My initial test showed it was close to acceptable with my configuration with some issues. I agree that getting it into the test repo will help get it fully debugged with different configurations. The question is do our packagers have the resources to correct the problems? Being open source I would assume they do.

One thing I noticed later: it inserts a "Backup and restore" button on the Panel dialog box in Settings--very nice.

I will try and get it built tonight unless someone else has, but I haven't seen anyone mention it yet.
