BTW, I wanted to try pitivi from regular repo and it gave me a segmentation fault.

there is some reason avidemux can't be in our repo. stevo has an outside repo for it.

It's not in Debian and Ubuntu because some of the encoding it uses is still patent-encumbered.

Ah, OK, didn't know that. Does Pitivi segfault for you too? I tried OpenShot and ended up using Kdenlive for what I needed.

I had build failures in the OBS for Avidemux since 2.6.18--finally figured out from the error message it was because Jessie's libvdpau had become too old, so put our MX 15 backported version into that OBS repo, and now it has a working 2.6.20.
