Lazarus and Free Pascal

#1 Post by Gordon Cooper »

I realise that not many others are using Pascal and that this is of low priority, but I would be
grateful if the Team could look at updating Lazarus in the Community Repository, The listed version
is 0.9.30 which is several years old and has many bugs. Current version is 1.2.2 , released on April
this year, with 1.3 coming sometime.

Thanks,
Gordon

For which OS?
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.

Thanks Gordon.
I'd like to see a current Lazarus available as well.
Pascal is still my first choice.

I have packages of the latest version 1.2.2 built but currently have really slow upload speed. May have to do it tomorrow morning. I used Wheezy's 2.6.0 fpc, but may try upgrading that later to 2.6.4.

Got them uploaded

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1UMhs ... sp=sharing

but it seems like a complex set of packages and dependencies, so maybe waiting until they are in the repo would be better.

That should be in a day or so.

Thanks, Stevo.
Trying the deb from the Lazarus site,
http://sourceforge.net/projects/lazarus ... s%201.2.2/
They link to fpc-2.6.4 src and bin.

Many thanks Stevo. You are dead right about a complex set, I will certainly wait for the repo, having wasted a lot of time
in previous years looking for odd dependencies that the compiler could not find.

OK, I went and updated the fpc set of packages to 2.6.4 also.

Thanks, muchly, Stevo.
Tried to download the deb from the Lazaurus site but could never get it all.
Could be the dubious connection from this small hotel in eastern Venezuela.
I'll get it from the repo. Just seems right. :)
