I think Python will allow me to accomplish what I need.
Too many years since Delphi 3 and my attempts at getting Lazarus to run were full of questions.

Probably should have just stayed with the FP IDE.
The old TurboPascal editor served me well for quite a few apps, large and small.
When things slow down, I'll try it again.

Same here Richard. Was using Delphi 3 with Win, up to XP, to provide tech support to a fairly big user group. Then MS started to issue new versions with no backwards capability, so I abandoned Delphi. Attempts to use Lazarus get bogged down, too many things do not work. Fortunately, the user group's software has
been updated several times so that my vintage XP can not cope. So I handed over tech support to a Windows 10 user. Best of luck to them all. Should I live long enough, then might look at Lazarus/FP again. Or, I might not. Lazarus tries to do too much all at once.
