LightDm Greeter

#1 Post by Jerry3904 »

This package has a new release that he says is much nicer and would be good to be able to put in the second beta, due imminently:

https://launchpad.net/lightdm-gtk-greeter

Utopia pointed to an Ubu binary that apparently installs (I think this is the package he meant):

Thanks.

That's the package for quantal. The one I tested was for raring, but as far as I can tell they're identical.

I get this when installing in chroot

Code: Select all

invoke-rc.d: initscript dbus, action "reload" failed.
Setting up lightdm-gtk-greeter (1.7.1-0mcr120+1) ...
update-alternatives: using /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter-ubuntu.conf to provide /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf (lightdm-gtk-greeter-config-derivative) in auto mode

I'm waiting to upgrade through apt-notifier on an install...not in the repo yet.

Also:
/etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf is a broken symlink. Edit - no this is ok, sorry.

/etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter-ubuntu.conf includes Ubuntu references eg font, wallpaper, and a theme-name=Ambiance?
