Time to bump this thread with a suggestion. From Charlie Henson's collection: I like the colors and it's frozen, but still alive like Stretch.

Months ago, when Gerson first posted about the dandelion plymouth theme he was using on MX, for some reason I began to have dandelions on my mind and went searching for dandelion wallpapers.

This was my favourite.

Nomacs (which I think is pre-installed) will handle simple resizing, and you can adjust the size (in MB etc) when you save it

Another way is to open the pic using GIMP, then choose from the menu: Image >> Scale

In scale, change the X and Y size to 1920x1200. You may need to unlock the "chain" that restricts the scaling/resizing to the X:Y ratio of the existing pic.

Then from menu, choose "Export As" to generate the new resized pic as a png or jpg file.

If you only choose Save or Save As, you will be saving the file as a .xcf file, which is the GIMP working file format.

@ChrisUK: I'd probably like a version of your avatar pic for a wallpaper...
