faenza isn't really all that flat compared to the REALLY flat ones in vogue right now
The next thing will probably be intaglio icons.
I think we have to accept some deviations. It's more what's working than having the perfect set. Unrecognizable icons is in my opinion not the most optimal solution.

This may just be an individual problem, and I have solved it by switching to faenza-cupertino. Generally better for my big-ish screen from which I sit back.

installing cupertino full and thus bringing in Faenza
After using it for a very short time, I'm leaning towards cupertino full with Faenza. Isn't it better for work than the mini? Have to switch a little between them to compare.

I've got a custom dpi that may effect Icons. Not sure. I run 110 dpi. Will that change Icons? Anyway I was very impressed with the new Icons that came with 14.4. I installed a couple of sets after reading some of the discussion concerning them. But I really like the colorful default ones a lot.

I should mention my LCD is a 23" Widescreen.

I don't know if this is the correct thread about the new xfce Faenza-Cupertino icons, but this is the only thread I could find on this topic.
My ethernet icon on the notification area always shows a disconnected icon.
When I right click it and select connection information I get:
"Error displaying connection information - no valid connections found!"
I attached an image of the notification area with the ethernet icon and the error dialog as mentioned above.
I'm online now. Is there something wrong with the icon, my connection, or the ethernet mini-app itself?

Mine is doing the same thing. I assume this is caused by the upgrade to xfce 4.12 as I'm certain it used to show a little monitor icon that indicated a positive connection.

Working OK for me in 14.4. What shows when you right click on it and pick Edit Connections?

There is no wired connection shown when I click Edit Connections. I've never had to do anything before using MX and an Ethernet connection. I'm somewhat unnerved by the thought of trying to fix this when it has me connected.

This is a step backwards.
Right clicking and choosing 'Connection information' gets me the error message. And yes, Wireless is also blank.
