Changing colors in a KDE 4 theme

#1 Post by fbt » Sun Jul 28, 2013 11:37 am

System Settings -> Application Appearance -> Colors then select the Colors tab
See attached image where I changed the View Background and Window Background colors
Please remember your existing colors so you can restore them if need be.

Changing the panel background color is different
System Settings -> Workspace Apperance -> Desktop Theme and then click on the Details tab

The tricky part is you need to have downloaded and installed a theme that has the background color you want. There are plenty to choose from at kde-look.org Or you can use the "Get new Themes" button which will pull decorations from http://opendesktop.org Select your theme and apply, wait a couple of seconds and then check to see if it's changed.

Those colors are better than a cup of coffee/tea as a wake-up. But coffee or tea tastes better.
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.

I can only pray those colors were chosen for demonstration purposes.

Wow, that will wake you up first thing in the morning, while licking the keyboard for coffee and tea.

Yes just for demonstration, I'm back to my normal boring blue colors.
