MX17 best distro on my rig

Here you can post about what you did to get MEPIS to work right with your computer or if hardware worked right out of the box for you. This is for the computers and/or hardware that is normally hard to get working right in Linux or MEPIS.

MX17 best distro on my rig

#1 Post by grelos » Sat May 05, 2018 10:39 am

Got a new machine (see signature) a few weeks ago. Tested many distros:
1. Ubuntu (17.10 and 18.04): no Fn buttons, not possible to adjust display brightness.
2. Kubuntu 18.04 (beta at that time): failed to install
2. Opensuse, same as Ubuntu
3. Antergos, failed to install

MX17: everything and I mean everything working out of the box. Immediately. No hassles, no tweaks. Nothing. Just perfectly awesome. I had just to adjust a few things due to my general inexperience.
And also, great community here: kind and supportive.
