I understand. I humbly suggest that, since you seem to be keeping an eye on posters, you take action before nasty exchanges take place. In this case Cyrilus31 started with a remark that was open to misinterpretation, and despite my request for an explanation and a subsequent offer of apology, has not even bothered to explain. That to me indicates I was right about his being sarcastic. "Punishing" me for my reaction and letting the instigator off scot-free does not rhyme with right to me. I also urge you to check out all my posts - my comments are beyond reproach, of that I am certain.

BTW, Cyrilus31 is not the only one make sarcastic remarks.

In a terminal type

Code: Select all

geany ~/.icewm/preferences
Add

Code: Select all

TaskBarShowAPMGraph=0
to that file.
Percentage only will be displayed.

From now on I will stick with french forum.

Cyrilus31 I sincerely apologise for my rudeness, I honestly thought you were being sarcastic. Seeing your last reply I understood 2 things:
1. You really did want to help
2. What you meant by "in the corner" is the bottom right hand corner of the screen, and nothing else.

I do hope we can put this behind us and communicate in a normal way. I did not know you were French, so I'll say it in French too: je vous prie d'accepter mes excuses les plus profondes et sincėres.

Unfortunately that has not changed anything: I still have the yellow battery indicator without a %.

No, you should not. If you can make a contribution here, why not? Just because 1 idiot took your comment the wrong way does not mean you should stay away.
A bientôt, j'espère ;-)

Did you restart iceWM ? My command should do the trick.
I read your messages and didn't see your configuration with inxi command. That would be useful for future troubleshooting.

What I did was I added that TaskBar line to iceWm as per your instruction, but stayed with the default WM. So, if I understand you well I should change to the iceWM. Correct? Excuse my newbie ignorance.

Which WM do you use? That should have been my first question. I thought it was iceWM.

Please give us the output of

Code: Select all

inxi -F
to know your system configuration

I have not changed it since I installed antiX, I don't know how to check it, but from memory I'd say the default is Rox-Fluxbox. Nevertheless, in the code below it says iceWM 1.4.2.

I can confirm the inxi bug.
From a fluxbox session, when I run inxi -F

Code: Select all

System: Host: antix1 [...........] Desktop: IceWM 1.4.2

Yesterday I did change to iceWM but that did not do the trick. When I changed back to what I thought was the default WM, Rox-Fluxbox, it did not look at all like the one I had originally. I tried them all but none looked like the original. As a matter of fact, I had the same experience with the WMs when I tested antiX in a VM. I never got back to my original. Anyway, that's another topic.

For what is is worth, I got a lot out of the posts on this thread and I did not detect any sarcasm, only questions and good tips. Just goes to show that what we type can be misunderstood. None of us should be quick to be offended. And if we are offended we should probably pause and chill, it probably was not intentional. Anyway, I appreciated the tips on the battery display.
