[SOLVED] gpg: keyserver receive failed: No data

#1 Post by philotux »

I have just downloaded antiX-17.3.1_x64-full.iso, and wanting to verify the iso, following the instruction at https://mxlinux.org/wiki/system/signed- ... tiX%2015.1, I am stuck at the first step:

Code: Select all

gpg --keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net --recv-keys 4A0C4F9C
gpg: keyserver receive failed: No data
I am not sure what is wrong. I'll appreciate your pointers as how I can proceed from here.

I suspect you were just having trouble reaching the gnupg.net keyserver. I just ran the command and got this:

Code: Select all

$ gpg --keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net --recv-keys 4A0C4F9C
gpg: requesting key 4A0C4F9C from hkp server keys.gnupg.net
gpg: key 00067FDD: "anticapitalista <antix@operamail.com>" not changed
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg: unchanged: 1
If it still isn't working you might try another keyserver. I would suggest

Code: Select all

hkp://keyserver.ubuntu.com
HP Pavillion TP01, AMD Ryzen 3 5300G (quad core), Crucial 500GB SSD, Toshiba 6TB 7200rpm
Dell Inspiron 15, AMD Ryzen 7 2700u (quad core). Sabrent 500GB nvme, Seagate 1TB

Good signature from "anticapitalista <antix@operamail.com>"
Couldn't be happier. The iso is already burned to the usb. Can't wait to boot it up and install. My internal disk being full, it will be on an external ssd. I should think that it will work equally well from there.

Will get back to you later!

Hi,

Got antiX 17.3.1 installed. The whole install process went very smoothly. Rebooted into the newly installed system. It all looks good but I am facing some initial issues like dropping internet connection and not getting (or rather not knowing how to get) sound via hdmi etc. I'll surely have to come back here with a lot of questions. Hope you don't mind. I'll mark this one solved.

Thanks!
