Antix Power Button Live USB [SOLVED]

antiX-17.3.1_x64-base

I made a live usb from my hard disk install using "ISO snapshot" and "live USB maker"

On my hard disk install, the power button shuts down the system, but on the live USB, the power button does not, even when run on the same computer.
The power button does turn on the display when it is blanked out.

I've tried many different settings in the live usb startup menu with no results.

The original downloaded live usb also does not allow the power button using default settings

I presently use bunsenlabs linux but I really like antix live USB persistence options and the memory usage, If I can just get the power button to work, I'm switching over!

Inspect the specified boot parameters of your LiveUSB. IIRC, by default disable=lx is specified.
If you remove disable=lx from the line, acpid should now be autostarted... and you can check if "shutdown" then behaves as expected.

Whether or not the above resolves the problem, I'd encourage you to read the boot parameters documentation in the FAQ and wiki to discover the many available options.

Thanks a lot!
It took me a while to figure which file to edit, for anyone else with this problem, for me the file was. /media/Live-uefi/boot/grub/grub.cfg

You shouldn't need to even edit that file if you use the customize entry when you boot. Changes you make when you boot can be saved. If you only want the option to save without the other menus such as language then use the cheat "menus=s".

There is no option for acpi in the customize entry of the boot menu.
it no longer shows function buttons on the bottom but walks you through the following text menus.
Select Language
Select Console Width (I assume)
Select Timezone
Select Option (this is where I would expect acpi setting to be but its not here)
Select Mounting Option
Select Persistence Option
Select font size
Select Desktop
Editing /media/Live-uefi/boot/grub/grub.cfg is the only thing that worked for me.

Yes, I know. You need to press 'e' to edit the entry and then you can add whatever you want and you will get an offer to save it if you use the full text menus or if you add "menus=s". I thought there were instructions to use 'e' to edit, right there on the screen. I admit the syslinux bootloader using gfxboot was far more convenient but this was the best we could do within the limitations of Grub.

edit: Also, by the time the text menus are presented, the kernel is already loaded. There may not be a way of implementing things like "acpi" in the text menus (although maybe there are sysctl options I'm unaware of). We could add another entry in the "Advanced" submenu though. I'm open to suggestions. It would be great if we could use sysctrl to handle options that normally need to be given to the kernel directly. If there is a particularly useful boot parameter we could add it in another entry and add "menus=s" to give people the option to automatically save it.

heh, I'm an idiot. Last time I used e on grub must have been more than 10 years ago.

Suggestions:
please say grub menu in the grub menu screen.
I would also like to have the "use e to edit menu item" back into grub the way it is in Debian and other distros.
I know your method looks pretty but its nice to have some standardization.

Heck for a while i thought it was a type of syslinux menu because it didnt say grub.
The function keys would be nice to have back in, just in case I only wanted to change one things.
If you must use the text menus, It would be nice to actually see what the defaults are.

Also, I would either take grub menu editing out of the control center OR make it work for all cases.
