AntiX i3 and logout restart shutdown

#1 Post by KoO »

I tried a few ways of making a logout restart shutdown in my i3config file could not get any to work, so i looked into the normal way this is done from say fluxbox or icewm etc
If AntiX used systemd it would have been easy to do but thankfully that is one of the reasons why we are here NO systemd .

This is done with a file in usr/local/bin ( desktop-session-exit ) so I copied this file to my i3 folder and made a link to it in my .config/i3/config as below.

for_window [instance="desktop-session-exit"] floating enable (if you don't use this command it will open in full screen)

bindsym $mod+Shift+x exec --no-startup-id ~/.config/i3/desktop-session-exit (mod+Shift+x it will now open as pre normal like fluxbox icewm etc..) you can use mod key combo you like.

Our to close the logout screen use mod+shift+q ...
