Running again, with more verbosity and Disable auto-mounting...

Wasn't seeing any screen output from MXLUM, probably caused I stopped the other trial.
Reformatted with gparted, new partition table, remove/reinsert

now running again with automounting off and make new ext4 fs even if exists, just in case.
Noticed this message:

Code: Select all

Ready to make live-usb on device sdd
... by copying file /media/SD-NTFS/MX18b1x64-409-181213.iso
live-usb-maker: partition-clear >> partition-clear
live-usb-maker: partition-make >> partition-make
Using msdos partitioning
live-usb-maker: makefs-bios >> makefs-bios
mke2fs 1.43.4 (31-Jan-2017)
64-bit filesystem support is not enabled. The larger fields afforded by this feature enable full-strength checksumming. Pass -O 64bit to rectify.
Do you think it matters?
I'll let this trial run to completion and test, since it is running well.

What do you think about the "-O 64bit" parameter?

This error is supposed to prevent you from over-writing a running live system. On a live system, we assume that whatever is mounted at /live/boot-dev/ is the running live media.

BTW: what partition is mounted at /media/SD-NTFS?

I got an error last night on the 32bit AA1 netboot with the 4.19.x_386 kernel also
so I'm back on the 4.9.x_386 on 32bit netbooks and 64bit laptop for the time being.

Why not examine the code from live-usb-maker-gui , the older antiX version?

Why does that work for me while MX-LUM doesn't?

live-usb-maker-gui is deprecated and replaced by live-usb-maker-gui-antix, which is basically MX-LUM

Except the old one works for me and the new one doesn't. It would appear I'm not the only one with issues. A comparison of the code might help the devs ascertain what is causing the issues in the new program.

So live-usb-maker-gui-antix does not work for you (on antiX)?
