Conky Manager?

#1 Post by namida12 »

I searched in synaptic for Conky-Manager and all I found was antix-goodies.

Tried to use a terminal to start conky-manager

Code: Select all

green256@antix3:~
$ Conky-Manager
bash: Conky-Manager: command not found
Since I have a 4 core cpu I wanted to change the antix-conky to show all cores.

I also have and wanted to display the home disk info
Ram
swap
/disk
/home <----

Also I wanted to add orage calendar to conky underneath "rox-icewm" display near the top of current antix conky
Do not know where to begin to understand and make these changes.

Is there a good video of editing and modifying the Conky config?

It is conky-manager. You can start it from the whisker menu. Just type conky-manager in the search bar..
I know of noy MX dev videos on editing conkies but there are probably some out there on the net. Just do search in Youtube. I learned the basics by looking at existing ones and trial and error.

It may not be available in the antiX repos, either. Try

Code: Select all

apt policy conky-manager

Try Arco Linux's site for conky instructional content on conky.

Erik dubois is very into teaching people how to customise conkies and icons.

And so it's not available in the antiX repo!

You can either temporarily add the MX repo to install it, or just download and install the MX 17 deb package from here:

http://mxrepo.com/mx/repo/pool/main/c/conky-manager/

ignoring the dbgsym packages.

Be aware that it's set up for the formatting of the conkies we supply for MX, which have been edited to make the color configuration possible. More on that in the Help file

Just to be clear Conky Manager and MX Conky are two different apps.

Well, with the changes you want to make to the antiX default conky, you will have to edit its conky configuration file. Conky-manager is not going to help much with that--you just need a text editor and some knowledge of how to change that file to get your desired changes.
