antiX-17.2 (Helen Keller) released
This is primarily a point-release upgrade of antiX-17.1 (Heather Heyer) with a new L1TF/Foreshadow and Meltdown/Spectre patched kernel, various bugfixes, updated translations and some upgraded packages.
As usual we offer the following completely systemd-free flavours for both 32 and 64 bit architecture.

Quick Q, the only difference between full and base is Libre Office, correct?
Subquestion, having updated 17.1 is equal to 17.2, correct?

q1. Basically, yes. There are other apps also not included on base though. I'll post the listBuck Fankers wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 10:06 am Quick Q, the only difference between full and base is Libre Office, correct?

q2. Yes, but you will need to upgrade the kernel manually via cli-aptiX, synaptic or apt-get.
Edited: In the first post, the full announcement links to a list of applications included in antiX-full and not in antiX-base.

Re: antiX-17.2 released
Thank you, I didn't know about cli-aptiX, installing now "37" (kernel 4.9.126). cli-aptiX really helps, I tried synaptic and got lost with too many kernels & headers options.anticapitalista wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 10:18 am q2. Thanks for the list also, I see there are many packages differences, not just LO. I better stay with Full for now ;-)

With synaptic too you can select which repository to look through and only look at antix
Linux 4.17 and 4.18 have NSA's speck in them if you get them from Debian.
AntiX has that crap turned off.
Linus/x decided from 4.20 onwards he will again drop that crap.
Very few developers chose to turn that crypto-module off, Antix was among the very very few!
Running antix-testing and antix-sid happily.

Thanks anti... Have updated my torrent files and activity is picking up slowly. Most of the seeds for my downloads were Europe and Russian Federation.

Re: antiX-17.2 released
I'm using qbitTorrent which shows a row of flags indicating where the download is coming from. There were several from UK in each of the four Antix-17.2's I set up. At present there are 43 seeds for the full 64 bit version 37 for full 386, and 20 & 24 for Antix 17.2 Base. Think that Europe has collectively gone to bed, there are no downloads showing now for Antix nor MX.
