RDP & UEFI motherboard overwrites?

Do we need to worry about Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) attacks?
Over my head: Understand some of these brute force attacks might be be protected by 3 or 4 bad password attempt in 2 minutes there should be a wait time log in penalty.

Also some of us are using UEFI, is there a way to lock down to prevent the newest UEFI infection: Rootkit Survives HD Swaps
