Ahhh, well.
Been there; done that.

Wait, which password is lost?

If root, then time to save all possible data.
Then, reinstall.

If user, create a new user and move any data in home to new user.
One more reason for a separate /DATA partition. :)

Distrowatch is saying that antiX has a xfce desktop, i don't see it :alien:

there isn't one. I think that xfce listing is a hold over from when MX was a spin of antiX (mx14, mx15)

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

googled for 'antix' which showed this page: https://www.google.co.ve/search?q=antix ... e&ie=UTF-8
which on the right hand side says:
antiX

antiX is a Linux distribution built directly on Debian Stable. It is comparatively lightweight and suitable for older computers, while also providing cutting edge kernel and applications, as well as ... Wikipedia
Package manager: dpkg
Update method: APT
OS family: Unix-like (based on Debian)
Latest release: antiX 17.1 "Heather Heyer" / March 18, 2018; 58 days ago
License: GPL version 2
Default user interfaces: Fluxbox, IceWM, JWM, herbstluftwm, Xfce
I always thought it had to be added?
My experience says Xfce is not included in antiX.

I just type in my user name. Hit enter. Then move on. No drama for me.

Really? I would not expect to escape a blank black screen by entering my username like it's a screensaver, but I'll try it. I've been Ctrl-Backspacing (or Ctrl-Alt-Backspacing, I forget which) to get out of the blank screen, because I didn't have a better idea.

Maybe if i install this iso, almost at the end of the list: antiX-17.1_x64-base.iso 2018-03-17 665.8 MB ... and add xfce ... do you think there are going to be more chances of success?

I just installed the same versión but for 686.

My experience from the last couple of days is that the Xfce4 install overwrites some parts the IceWM and antiX Control Center. Could be just me because I decided to continue using SpaceFM & IceWM on my netbooks.

Perhaps it's either one or the other. My searches didn't find any corraboration of this on antiX.
