Today antiX17.1 was released.
I've been waiting for this because of my ThinkPad x40.
The installation was completely painless.
The installer did everything right, even installing Grub to the root partition!
He also"memorized" his preferred desktop.
The kitten is running like clockwork again. Many thanks to anti and everyone involved.
I am happy.

Re: antiX17.1 released
I am seeding 64 and 386 full versions. The 64 is fairly quiet but 32 bit users are downloading. Do not know much about antix as have not used it. Is there any benefit
in providing seeds for the other versions? That is anything else but full?

Re: antiX17.1 released
Downloaded and installed, everything is fine, superfast system on my Lenovo T60.
The new live-usb-maker-gui-antix looks a bit complicated, but worked.

Re: antiX17.1 released
It has more option than the older version, it's also more flexible, let me know how you'd like to simplify/improve it and I will see what I can do.The new live-usb-maker-gui-antix looks a bit complicated, but worked.

@adrian
Yep, I have seen the benefits of this new version of live-usb-maker.
But also have seen, that for someone who is new to linux it does not seem inviting or self explanatory, like "Look it's easy, just do it"
Maybe an advice, choose this option for antiX/MX-sticks and that for other linux-distros would help a lot.
Looked again, the explaination is there.
Anyway, thanks for all.

Re: antiX17.1 released
Just a comment.
I'm running torrents for MX and AntiX and am a bit surprised to see the popularity of 64 bit Antix. Certainly more interest than in 32 bit MX. Also many of the AntiX users are in USA.
Felt sorry for a user in North Africa, upload speeds from here only a few b/s and it took over 4 hours for them to get MX. Several other prospective users must be on the end of slow dial-up systems too. Still the word is being propagated around the world, have noted a very wide range of countries using the torrent system.

Re: antiX17.1 released
Gordon, Yes I am amazed at the various countries the downloaders are from. I can recognise a few flags, but must look most of the time. This is the first time I have seen so many different South America downloaders. It seems MX and AntiX have been just discovered in South America, Brazil has always been quite active but not so many other South American countries.

re: popularity of 64bit
Interestingly (to me, at least) the 32 vs 64bit download ratio has varied wildly from week to week.
