in order to run liquorix deb, need gcc-7 n lintian.
gcc-7 can be install from buster.
(pls note do not remove gcc-6 which is link to mx).

My Qs are out of line??? I'm asking some fairly simple questions, some of which pertain to MX-Linux because they are MX repos.

Uh yeah, Dolphin advised specifically against doing such. Obviously GCC-7 can be installed from Buster, did you not read what I wrote at all? -.-

Now how can I get this to read in apt? http://mxrepo.com/mx/testrepo/pool/test ... -liquorix/
like when I search liquorix in APT nothing will come up...

u failed to understand........u wouldn't able to do it.
if u had mx under mxpi test repo, u will be able to find liquorix 4.14.15 n install as easy as peasy but u r going the wrong way. :needcoffee:

Code: Select all

System: Host: mx1 Kernel: 4.14.0-15.2-liquorix-amd64 x86_64 bits: 64 Desktop: Xfce 4.12.3
           Distro: MX-17_x64 Horizon December 15, 2017

I'm going the wrong way? What do you mean I'm "going the wrong way"? I'm asking how to find Liquorix in the mx testrepo in APT -.-
What am I doing wrong???
I fail to understand I wouldn't be able to do it? Well I might be able to do "it"(whatever "it" is, as you haven't specified) if your English wasn't so bad...
What would I not be able to do? Add the liquorix kernel backports in the mx testrepo with APT??? How am I supposed to know that exactly??? Am I psychic???

good think we document this stuff in the wiki.

https://mxlinux.org/wiki/system/repos-mx-17

you can't just make up repo definitions, that will rarely work.

lenovo ThinkPad T530 - MX-17
lenovo s21e & 100s - antiX-17, MX17(live-usb)
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

THANK YOU. That is what I was looking for. I wasn't exactly just guessing, I was using the directories' names in the hopes that I would get it right.
