Should the default be to install debs from debian stretch rather than stretch-backports? That would be better for antiX for sure.

right now it asks if you want to check debian-backports. the default is main.

even after checking backports you are asked again which one to install. I'm open to making that different. The reason we put the option in there is we got a bunch of complaints about "old" nvidia drivers.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

The default in antix is stretch, its the 375.82-1~deb9u1
This driver does not build against the 4.14.12-antix-kernel
I had to enable mx-repos on antix to get the 375.82-9mx17+1, which builds perfectly against 4.10.5-antix.3-amd64-smp, 4.14.12-antix.1-amd64-smp, 4.14.2-antix.1-amd64-smp and 4.9.75-antix.2-amd64-smp

OK, my box uses the legacy drivers so I didn't pay attention to the new drivers.

Yesterday I saw the mx-debs for the 375.82-9mx17+1 are now available on antix 17, thanks very much anticapitalista.

Just I've seen there is a new ddm-mx package in the mx17 repos.
Updated it, tried it and it installs perfectly the newest 384.11-nvidia-driver from backports without errors. So also thank you so much to dolphin_oracle.

The new ddm-mx 18.01.02 is only in the mx-repos until now
Is there a reason why its not avalaible on antix17 ?
