No recycle bin?

hello
i am an new linux user and try to use antix 17 32 bit on an old notebook. everything looks fine but i do not find a recycle bin or 'lost and found' or something similar. when i delete a document or photo it seems to be totaly gone. even searchmonkey could not find it. is that possible?

yes, antiX does not have a recylce bin. It can be added if you are using the spacefm file manager. check the spacefm add ons in the help menu.

thank you for your answer, but this is much too difficult for a non linux specialist. and a system without a trah can by default reminds me, that linux is not really suitable for simple pc users. may be in my next life ;-)

Perhaps your machine is powerful enough to run MX Linux?
In a terminal, do this:
and copy/paste the results here so we can check for you.

You should use MX Linux instead, if you can. It's awsome. I'm a Windows user so I'm new to Linux too but after testing three Linux Distros, I've found MX the best and easiest to use.

What are your Pc specifications? .Try MX Linux it is more user freindly and faster if you have more than 1 Gb Ram or I Gb Ram and better specifications then install MX Linux and in MX Linux Trash icon will be there on the desktop instead of Recycle bin in Windows

Not by default, though it can be put there (User Manual) by right-clicking the desktop > Desktop Settings, Icons tab: click box for Trash. By default, Trash is an entry in the left pane of Thunar.

I installed the Trash plugin for Spacefm. It shows under plugins, but it doesn't work.
When I click on Trash, I get the following error message: /tmp/spacefm-user-004e95c0.tmp/5ebcaa34-tmp.sh: line 111: trash: command not found.
When I click on Open Trashcan, it opens to: home/user/.local/share/trash/files.

Xfce had its own panel plugin for trash as well
