That's fine as long as there is no earlier 4.14.x kernel in the repo. 'Urgent data corruption issue' destroys filesystems in Linux 4.14.anticapitalista wrote:... and it won't be for a while.stsoh wrote:kernel 4.14.2 stable is out, fixes the bcache corruption bug.

many users don't know how to use bcache, as long as u don't use bcache, it will be fine.
have been using kernel 4.14.1 for the last few days, so far so good, very stable and no gitch(es) yet.

According to that article, they were supposed to fix it in 4.14.1 but I guess they didn't.BitJam wrote:That's fine as long as there is no earlier 4.14.x kernel in the repo. Here is the commit with the fix.anticapitalista wrote:According to that article, they were supposed to fix it in 4.14.1 but I guess they didn't.
If it is not already our 4.14.1 (or whatever), it is a trivial one-line change. If our 4.14.1 has this fix then we should be good bcache-wise.

anticapitalista,
Thank You for your continued efforts...
Is anyone using this newer kernel with a Ryzen Processor? Does it make any changes - Faster boot, Slower boot?
