Samsung Phone on AntiX 17 64 bit

#1 Post by namida12 »

Get a message after connecting samsung 7s:

Android File Transfer or Samsung Smart Switch must be installed on Mac OS X device.

I went to MX and used thunar, Next time I would like to use AntiX - it never connected, and phone was convinced it was connected to a Mac OS X device.

My samsung s7 edge works just fine on AntiX using gmtp. Using a good usb cable and telling my phone it is OK to connect up. I use airdroid also. Which works fine and dandy for tansfering files online. Using AntiX.

Code: Select all

$ apt-cache policy gmtp
gmtp:
  Installed: 1.3.7-1
  Candidate: 1.3.7-1
  Version table:
 *** 1.3.7-1 0
        500 http://ftp.gr.debian.org/debian/ jessie/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
screensht.jpg
gmtp is in synaptic package manager.

rokytnji.1,

Code: Select all

green250@antix250:~
$ apt-cache policy gmtp
gmtp:
  Installed: 1.3.10-1+b1
  Candidate: 1.3.10-1+b1
  Version table:
 *** 1.3.10-1+b1 500
        500 http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian stretch/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Will Change cable, and try again.

On-line Airdroid? Not a Linux version on web page, and that would require a wireless modem in desktop, or can you use it wired?

Play store has the version for android phone. You install airdroid on phone first. No need to install airdroid on laptop with antix. Just login < to airdroid account > on phone first. Turn on laptop/wired desktop and go to the site using your browser and login. Then access your phone.

rokytnji.1,

Have family here from Japan, have been wining and dining since last post have just enough time to say sorry have not tried.
They leave on 30th for Hawaii so life will come back in-line after that date...

Also only 2 bicycle rides since they arrived, and have gained 4 pounds visiting all the Vegas Buffets night after night, and a few beer almost every night...
I forgot how much my relatives drink, I visited Japan last march for 3 weeks and I forgot how much beer we consumed in 3 weeks. But I road a dozen times while there in March and it was cold, but my classic Bianchi was a pleasure to ride. I only get to ride the classic Bianchi several weeks a year, but it is stored inside the house, a 59 CM which is quite impossible to find Japan, except near the US military bases.

Sounds like a ton of fun to me.

My 66CM is a antique 10 speed Schwinn roadbike. I got a Fuji Mountain Bikewith lots of speeds gears also. A custom Fixie. And another cheapo single speed road cruzer. Gotta change the cables on my Giant Inova road cruzer.
My area is all flat lands. So no uphill or downhill for me. I use those old GI Leggings when I am pedaling my 6 foot 7 inch frame down the road wearing country boy overalls. I am a wonderous sight to behold when pedaling bicycle in the desert. It keeps me fit.

Enjoy your relatives. I really enjoy mine.

Edit: It was 85F for the high today. I spent it on myHusqvarna Motorcycle instead of on bicycle though.
