Have added GIMP, and Google Chrome. Will play with live mode for a while then install. Still shows 8 cores on a Quad, and Motherboard is still ID as a Laptop other than that this seems quite stable. Very good Job this far, tipping me hat....

Sound was muted on panel. downloaded Pusleaudio from package installer still no sound.

Went back to 17 -B1 posting and tried previous suggestion:

Code: Select all

demo@antix1:~
$ alsa-set-default-card
sed: can't read /home/demo/.asoundrc: No such file or directory
demo@antix1:~
Popup box appeared showing HDMI as the default, and it allowed me to choose the generic sound card. Again I have sound.
Wired internet was available on boot from dvd.
Screen size was no problem with older AMD/ATI video card

RC1 is looking good for me.
{aside from my efforts to get kernel 4.13 working with video]

BTW, I was not able to find a md5 for the RC1. Does anyone have this, it is not in the read-me notes.

Wired ethernet works , so per anti's request I tried pulling out the Ethernet cable, and replugging. On my home network, the re-connection was immediate with no problems.
USB sticks are automounted just fine and contents are openable.
I did synaptic updates, accepted all , rebooted, no problems.
Added a dozen applications with synaptic, all good.
Suspend to RAM and waking works fine.
Changed wallpapers, themes, all seems normal and functioning.
Youtube videos play OTB.
With sound working after switching to the generic selection.

So far, a good install from USB, suitable for a daily driver. I will continue my system stability checking with antix 17 rc1 on this Ryzen hardware.

Thanks BitJam, I will check my download tonight (on a Win 7 machine now), that md5 looks familiar, I seem to recall the 49fb at the end for some reason.
