Is there anything different I need to do to get my Garmin working in 64-bit AntiX b3?
I do not upload to Garmin Direct, I only import files to Mapmyride and Strava.
I load the file from my old garmin into a ride folder on desktop, then I go to websites, Log in and and import the files into the website... I never use the Garmin website, do not like the interface...

Since I am running Testing in AntiX b3 thought i would try synaptic:

Installed the following packages:
garmin-forerunner-tools (0.10repacked-10+b1)
garmin-plugin (0.3.23-5)
libusb-1.0-0-dev (2:1.0.21-2)
Can load my older 14 hour Garmin Edge 705 and a window popups showing the Garmin device. This lets me transfer the current ride from history, to a ride folder. Then I go to Mapmyride.com login and import the file, same with Strava. Works well...
