antiX-17-b3-full, base and core-libre versions available for public testing

antiX-17-b3-full, base and core-libre versions available for public testing

* Beta3 has some bug fixes and a new kernel for 64 bit isos.
* Still systemd and libsystemd free
* eudev rather than udev

I have uploaded the base and core-libre versions for people to test. The base version includes IceWM and fits on a cd. No libreoffice though.

Known issues since a fix has still not been found.

* IceWM and jwm task bar icon for streamlight is half size
* IceWM themes do not increase size of icons
* Conky blur when switching themes in IceWM

Enjoy!

Lost Sound -
Had sound icon on lower right panel, fumble with mouse trying to increase sound to 100% and muted sound accidentally, could not find a method or tool to open sound, then pressed quit that made the sound Icon disappear along with sound. <--Operator error Restarted machine still no sound.

Tried download pulse audio, but have been unable getting it to work, as I did in Beta 2, nothing I am able to do seems to be working to get sound activated, currently completely out of my element.
Found Mute M control and was able to unmute Pulseaudio in the Volume control.

Unmuted pulseaudio in the Pulseaudio Volume control and again have sound, with lots of volume that was lacking using alsa sound.
It seems Pulse audio has the ability to provide increased volume levels, but does not have the nice sound icon to easily control the volume like alsa sound.
In this system using alsa on some videos the audio volume is not sufficient to be heard/understood. Pulse Audio provides the volume that was lacking, just took more blind experimentation to get it to work.

Revision: the sound icon appeared on panel again, can it control Pulseaudio it seems to have the capability to effect the volume levels.

Is there a zsync download (think it would be antiX-17.b3_x64-full.iso.zsync) available? I don't see one at the sourceforge link.

Apologies for what is likely to be a basic question, but my ethernet connection does not appear to autoconnect. Every time I rebooted up I had to to reconnect. I've tried doing the reconnection both from ceni and from the wicd icon in notification area (I'm using XFCE).

I also tried ticking the wicd option "always switch to wired connection when available".

But I'm still having to manually connect everytime I reboot and log in again.

Is that really the default situation? To require manual connecting?

Details: installed just last night on Virtualbox, added XFCE, still using the SLIM desktop manager.

BTW, in antiXCC I had previously overlooked trying the wicd settings because it was labelled "connect wirelessly") .
