#1 Post by some_new »

Hi
How to switch back from Gnome to xfce or other window managers in antiX 17?
in default we can go to in menu-Desktop ...
but after installation Gnome - can't find options for window manager.

You managed to install gnome desktop into antiX17? When I attempted that, it was impossible (due to pinned packages).

If so, you're a trailblazer, you are exploring corners that no one has yet tested (and few likely will).
Starting from scratch and reinstalling might be your best option.

since gnome more or less requires gdm, I'm going to assume you installed the gdm3 display manager. if so, look for a session chooser on the login screen. might look something like the attached screenshot. although I must admit I stole the screenie from screenshots.debian.net.

FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Did GNOME run? I was getting the impression that it really needs systemd.

Thanks dolphin_oracle
My screenshot looks different, but lucky, I found on top 'F1' and when I click it shows options like
jvm, rox-jvm, and etc
So now I know how to switch between window managers on start if NO options from desktop like Gnome.
