Thanks. I need to use aptget for pulse audio?
Used Synaptic from terminal and installed pulse audio, much higher volume after install.
I must use headphones as Lady is always watching Japanese drama on her computer...

Yes, or use the package installer in the control centre.

antiX with runit - lean and mean.

Selecting "America/Phoenix" as the time zone during installation does not work; zone remains "America/New York" on newly installed system. Easily corrected using "dpkg-reconfigure tzdata".

I've been struggling with my RAID 0 array... will Antix install on a RAID array? MX16 doesn't, but Debian does...

Re: antiX-17-b1-full available for public testing
Having trouble with opening web pages from Firefox, and Google. I have a link on a web page, and when I open a new tab or just try to open the link, many times I am getting can not find, or can't reach server. I have used ceni to get my network running - I want to try using googles DNS, but not certain How?
Network: Card: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver: r8169
IF: eth0 state: up speed: 1000 Mbps duplex: full mac: <filter>
MSI Motherboard spec: Realtek 8111H
green243@green243:~
$ ethtool -i eth0
driver: r8169
version: 2.3LK-NAPI
firmware-version: rtl8168h-2_0.0.2 02/26/15
expansion-rom-version:
bus-info: 0000:1e:00.0
supports-statistics: yes
supports-test: no
supports-eeprom-access: no
supports-register-dump: yes
supports-priv-flags: no
[/code]
Is there a r8168 driver instead of using the r8169 driver, that might give me better performance?

Installed antiX 17-b1:
- The menu in the installed system is different from the one in the live system. Besides, it has some issues. In my opinion, the menu change does not come as an improvement. I think the menu in the live system (so, the one from antiX 16) is easier for the user.
- "Logout" doesn't bring up the options (suspend, shutdown, etc); "Reboot" and "Shutdown" do not work
- In Control Center /Hardware the buttons Configure Mouse, Test Sound, Adjust Mixer, and Alsamixer Equalizer do not work
- In Control Center /System the buttons Choose Startup Services, Set System Keymap, and Set Date and Time do not work
The live system doesn't show these issues.
This is not the result of a thorough testing. The menu is unavoidable, obviously, and the other issues are the ones I happened to come across.
