I think I'll stay put on MX-16 unless I get a newer laptop. I suspect my older machines wouldn't see much benefit.

That is a reasonable plan. That is what I plan to do also.

But I know I won't do that. :)
I'll install MX-17 on another partition as soon as it is available.
If it doesn't break or works as well or even better that MX-16,
soon I'll make a fresh snapshot of my MX-16 on sda1 and install it on sda2.
Then install MX-17 on sda1. Keeping MX-16 on sda2 is my failsafe.

It's probably a syndrome of some kind. I've done it repeatedly.
And I know MX-17 will work just fine on sda2 or sda6, etcetera.
Thinkpad T430 & Dell Latitude E7450, both with MX-21.3.1
kernal 5.10.0-26-amd64 x86_64; Xfce-4.18.0; 8 GB RAM
Intel Core i5-3380M, Graphics, Audio, Video; & SSDs.

I want MX-17 on 18 June. With Plasma 5. And peace on Earth.

Already running antix a3 stretch and did a massive dist-upgrade yesterday on a ancient Panasonic CF -48 toughbook.

No breakage so far with bringing everything up to current.

Yup, we are going to have to think about beginning to populate an MX 17 repository. That means we'll have to rebuild all the MX packages and whatever else we have that's not already in Stretch.

We also will have to start thinking about phasing out any more updates for M12/MX 14. We won't get rid of the repo, it just won't be getting the updates that require their own virtual machine to build. The Mozilla binaries that we debianize don't require a VM build, so we can keep updating those as long as they are compatible with the Wheezy base.

It is a very interesting news Stevo (the one about keeping update old M12/M14.
Feeling being supported in my daily use of MX linux.

A big thank you to the community.
