Posting this hers since I know certain users are still on IBM T23 like me. Which are pentium 3 models.
Edit: I know nothing about single core atom cpu support.
Firefox won't run on anything less than pentium 4 when version 53 is released

The message is clear throw away your old pc and buy new, because economy doesn't go well! Only android can run 32 bit!

The way I understand this from reading the system requirements here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/5 ... uirements/ is that they now require the cpu to have SSE2 support, not that they're dropping 32bit support entirely, though they're effectively dropping support for machines with 32bit AMD cpus (I'm not aware of any 32bit AMD cpus that supported SSE2).
If I'm understanding things correctly I wouldn't be too down on Mozilla, Google Chrome has had the same requirement for 4 - 5 years now.

I have not dug into SeaMonkey Browser yet. Which is what I usually roll with on myP3 IBM T23 with no sse2 cpu .
I do the same using SeaMonkey on my atom cpus also. Which are 32 bit also. SeaMonkey updates come down the pipe slower than firefox does.
I use Dillo a lot on that laptop <IBM T23> though lately.

Thanks Azrielle, I hadn't heard of that one. I just tried it and the otter browser is pretty good.azrielle wrote:I have not dug into SeaMonkey Browser yet. Which is what I usually roll with on myP3 IBM T23 with no sse2 cpu .
