antiX-16.1 (Berta Cáceres) released
antiX-16.1 (Berta Cáceres) released
Bug fix version including all updates from Debian Jessie and scurity patched kernels.
Existing users of antiX-16 do not need to download and install. Simply update via the repositories.
So what is new.
Not a lot! BUT we have included 2 excellent applications: live-kernel-updater and live-usb-maker.
Debian 8.7 (jessie), but systemd-free! And it fits on a cd! Great LiveUSB features!
As usual antiX comes in 3 flavours for both 32 and 64 bit processors.
antiX-full (c695MB) -4 windows managers - IceWM(default), fluxbox, jwm and herbstluftwm
antiX-base (c510MB) -3 windows managers - fluxbox(default), jwm and herbstluftwm
antiX-core-libre(c190MB) - no X. Just enough to get you connected (wired) and ready to build. Uses a libre kernel.
antiX has been designed to be fast, light on resources and flexible.
Install it to harddrive, run it live from a stick or run as a frugal install on a partition.
For more detailed information, see release notes for antiX-16.
Get files from here:

Re: antiX-16.1 (Berta Cáceres) released
Since I know Jerry like stats, I thought I would let users know how antiX-16.1 downloads are going.
According to SF, about 9,000 downloads since release (17 Jan.) of which 6,456 are 64 bit! A surprise there.
No idea about downloads from mirrors (thanks to the devs for setting it up).
Not much activity via torrents since they were very recently uploaded (thanks chrispop99)

Re: antiX-16.1 (Berta Cáceres) released
Thanks for links, have deleted MX-15, and MX-RC1 clearing up the seeds. I am seeding both 32 and 64 bit versions and they are active already.

Re: antiX-16.1 (Berta Cáceres) released
Installed the full image on VB. Impressively low RAM usage of 145MB without any other application opened.
I'll try installing the systemd-less MATE on this to see how it works out.
[ADDED AFTER INSTALL]: ooh, nice! RAM at Bootup into MATE = 188MB.

Re: antiX-16.1 (Berta Cáceres) released
I am still seeding antiX-16.1 via torrents, should I be seeding a newer version as there are not many seeders this morning?

Re: antiX-16.1 (Berta Cáceres) released
Bonjour,
