Slim won't login KDE light in AntiX 15

I installed KDE light in AntiX 15.
It can't be logged into from slim.
I wonder if I missed a prompt somewhere in the metapackage installer to install a different login manager?
Is there somewhere that I can change slim to log in KDE light? It doesn't look like it to me.
I think I might have to install kdm or gdm and switch login managers when I want to use KDE.

Any thoughts on this?

I installed kdm and got the problems worked out.

I just installed antiX and added KDE myself, but it's past my bedtime as it is. Will play with it over the long weekend. Looks pretty sweet starting out.

That will depend upon where you live. Down under (Here) the weekend has half gone and I'm
getting ready to cook supper.

FWIW, the topic of putting KDE over MX (though not antiX IIRC) has been discussed many times on the Forum, and detailed directions are now in the Wiki:

I have seen this question come up on the antiX Forum, so just added a warning to install kdm to the Wiki entry.

Necessary when installing kde-lite, but it's not with kde-standard -- kdm was included.

On my MX-14 install I don't need kdm to login into KDE4, lightdm works fine.

So maybe you just need kdm if you install KDE4 on antiX-15.

That's my understanding, and that's how I just rewrote the Wiki entry. Not sure about UM's comment, so just said "some (clueless) users"...

I was able to fiddle around with some stuff in a antiX-15 live session and it now logs in to KDE4 using slim (the kdm package isn't installed).

But I changed several files, so I'm not exactly sure which changes were the key.
