AntiX 15 -Full Upgrade to KDE (Sound problem)

#1 Post by Kogomo »

After a recent update, my sound card, which is a Rocket Fish now puts out nothing but loud static. My onbaord connections were loos so I disabled them a while back and put in the cheap sound card. Was working find. Seems to have happend after VLC was updated.

Assuming that card 0: CA0106 [CA0106], device 0: is your internal audio and
card 1: Device [USB Audio Device], device 0: is the one you use, you need a ~/.asoundrc file that sets card 1 as the default. The contents of that file would only need to be

Code: Select all

defaults.pcm.card 1
defaults.ctl.card 1
Log out & back in after saving that file and the usb device will be the active sound card.

Card 0 CA106 is the Rocket Fish sound card. Its the one that now just puts out static. Onboard is disabled. The other two are a USB Headset and a usb dongle that I currently have my speakers plugged into, Sound is now coming out of my speakers again thatnks to the usb dongle i had laying around..
So now I am wondering why the update killed my PCI sound card.

USB Dongle (thought i would just include an image of what I meant by dongle) Yes, I do have my sound set to go thru this and it works. (although is not a Logitec)
