synaptic package manager warning M12 -- SOLVED

#1 Post by eemaestro » Tue Jun 28, 2016 12:15 pm

In synaptic, I get a dialog box with this warning when I reload:
W: There is no public key available for the following key IDs:
1397BC53640DB551

Nothing happens when I click Mark_all_upgrades.
Anybody have a clue what this might mean?

The current version of checkaptgpg (0.3.1mcr120+4) is able to fix that problem.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update ...

...Fetched 94.6 kB in 6s (13.9 kB/s)

If I recall correctly Mepis 12 came with an older version of checkaptgpg (0.2mcr120+1) preinstalled, I'm not sure if that version is able to fix it or not.

edit: the 0.2mcr120+1 version is also able to fix it.

I did NOT have to install this utility.

Code: Select all

# checkaptgpg

Checking nl.mxrepo.com_mepis_dists_mepis-12.0_Release

Checking security.debian.org_dists_wheezy_updates_Release

I guess that worked.
I'll take note of whether or not I get an error message when I run synaptic again.

Reran synaptic. It upgraded two libraries, libgd2 and wget. No error messages. I guess the problem is solved. Thank you, all.
