Mx 17 root password not accepted

Post by awsim » Sun Mar 25, 2018 4:13 pm

Mx 17 up and running well with these exceptions, Every now and then particularly when downloading the screen and cursor freeze and I have to shut down by turning off at the start switch.Further I have a problem when downloading an app;ication I'm asked for a root password and none of the passwords given at install are accepted . How do I get around these problems?

maybe the root password isn't what you think it is. This can sometimes happen if the keyboard layout changes.

I suggest doing this:

Code: Select all

 sudo passwd root
(will ask for the USER password to set up a new root password)
lenovo ThinkPad T530 - MX-18.3
lenovo s21e - antiX-19 beta 2 (live-USB)
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.
