Every place on the internet is different, it seems, or I'm too thick to figure it out. The how to here just tells me what extensions are allowed...
but neither drag-and-drop nor trying to paste it in worked for me.
Can someone take pity and step me through?
(The suppliers of these forums need to re-examine their search engine, I tell ya)

But there's a size limit.
Big pictures you'll need to host your pics elsewhere and link to it.
Search the forum for how tos

Re: How do I upload an image?
I put all my images on postimg, then just put the link or thumbnail link (better for big images) they provide in the post.
Re: How do I upload an image?
Especially from screenshots I simple use the Screenshot tool and upload to Imgur, screenshot provides the code to add in forum, very easy.
Re: How do I upload an image?
I like this site http://es.tinypic.com cause it allows to change/select the size of the image you want to upload.

If the image is too large to upload to the forum, you can open it in the default image viewer, Nomacs, and select 'Save for Web' from the File menu.

@Captain Brillo,
From your experience with the forum software, what do you think needs to be changed?
I don't really understand the relation.(The suppliers of these forums need to re-examine their search engine, I tell ya)

Re: How do I upload an image?
Richard, the search functionality provided by some forum platforms includes support for boolean (AND/OR/NOT) queries.
Here at MX Forum, phpBB accommodates only exact phrase plus ANDed queries.
There's also a comparatively painful issue (here at MXforum, and other distro-centric forums) regarding noisewords.
The db FULLTEXT index is, necessarily, configured to prune/ignore "too common" words...
...but, across the cumulative topics, the frequency of occurrence of terms/words within pasted "inxi output" and similiar
causes surprisingly many words to become "too common" to the extent that they are omitted from indexing.
