Firefox update

#1 Post by jcheminc » Tue Aug 14, 2012 9:46 pm

Hello experienced Mepis 11 users,

I cannot run Quickbooks online with my current version of Firefox. The QB sign on advises I need to upgrade. I tried the Synaptics update without success. So, I downloaded the file: firefox-14.0.1.tar-bz2-Ark. But I do not know how to open and run it. If it can be done, I would very much appreciate advice.

I have progressed through Mepis7, 8.0, 8.5 and now 11 and am a very enthusiastic user. But never learned how to install new apps. except through the "new updates".

Thanks,

John

Enable the Community Repos in Synaptic. There are up to date versions of Firefox available there.
