ksysguard is the superior task manager in Linux. What about it, Sir ? :puppy:

Easy, man, I know what it is. Just asking because you said no KDE came in; MX 16 comes with a task manager already.

yes, I mentioned that one can use ksysguard (any other task manager works as well) to terminate the traymenu. But much simpler is the default method of "middle mouse button click" to quit the tray menu. The icon will then disappear from the system tray. Multiple instances of the traymenu are possible, ideally use different icons (and pipes) to make them identifiable. TODO: modify pipe create bash code to be auto-safe for multi instancing.

well

Jerry3904 wrote:Thanks for posting that. If you really want that considered, though, you need to replace the KDE elements, because to include them hauls in piles of other stuff.
OK now that I've done that, I guess, it will still not be considered, am I right?

We have been pretty occupied, but I will take a look and pose the question to the Dev Team. The Feature Freeze for MX-16 was 2 weeks ago, so it's unlikely to make the release of Final at this point, but let's face that once we get past the first step.

The second script I see above still has KDE elements (Kate): is there a more recent version to review?

I deliberately posted a "foreign" screenshot to demonstrate that TrayMenu works in KDE, LXDE, XFCE (in that order, IMHO)

the OP script has no call of "kate" in it but "leafpad".

On netbooks, traymenu is a real handy tool , given certain shortcomings from other menus and such. thanks for your attention.

single re-dit: May I also not fail to mention, that the OP is languishing for more than 2 weeks in this forum, right... :crossfingers:
