Hello everyone. I installed MX a few days ago and now settled in with Budgie, with everything I need app-wise, and loving it!!!
MX is working fantastic. I initially could not figure out Compiz but even that is working fantastic now.
I'm on a 10 year old Dell Precision M4500, with a 226 GB HD, 4 GB Ram, Core i7 1.73 GHz. 8 procs. By today's standards that's not much but everything is working just fine.
Anyway I was bored the other day and saw this laptop laying around, I haven't opened it up in about 6 years and figured what the heck. Within a few days I went from Ubuntu to MX to Scientific and finally back to MX, which is where I'll be staying.
It's really awesome, you all did a fantastic job with this distro!!! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks to the MX Linux team..

Welcome! MX is the most stable of the newbie-friendly distros, and it works very well on a very wide variety of hardware! You'll love it! You'll also love these forums. Very friendly, very helpful.

I didn't think a core i7 was available 10 years ago.
Can you post a Quick system info here so we can see your system specs?
Use code tags so it displays easily. Just curious.
Thanks
Dan

Greetings everyone
This O/S is simply awesome ... y'all must have the cream-of-the-crop when it comes to devs, backroom boys und girls
Nobody else even comes close - why roll my own when all the heavy lifting has already been done - its just awesome
I simply have not been able to break it in 6 months ... even running KDE, which is not true of native KDE or DEB
To wit, your MX Snapshot is simply pure genius .... cannot say enough .. it just works, saves a lot in WS setup time
Thank you for the warm welcome, Jerry - more class
Regards
Jack
