Magazine high praise!

#1 Post by chrispop99 »

The number one Linux magazine in the UK is Linux Format. The latest issue contains a review of MX Linux 17.1. The review is very positive, and mostly accurate, but best of all, the 'Verdict' box-out gives 10/10 for every element! I've been a subscriber to this magazine for perhaps two decades, and don't remember another distribution scoring a perfect 10.

I obviously can't reproduce the article here for copyright reasons, but I hope I'm OK in quoting the final verdict:

This speedy, fully featured distribution, complete with solid support on- and offline, is a masterclass in user-friendliness.

Woo Hoo!

@chrispop99:
You have said almost exactly the same as I was going to say myself!
Such high praise from Linux Format should encourage many more people to try MX.
It's great to see the MX team's hard work (notably documentation, an Achilles heel for many distros) being recognized in such a public way.

Linux Format magazine, June 2018 edition, issue LXF237, page 20.

Reviewer - Shashank Sharma https://uk.linkedin.com/in/contactshashanksharma

Review title - MX Linux 17.1

Sub-heading - Shashank Sharma's expectations of a modern-day distribution is a lumbering Goliath, which makes this distro fall squarely into the David camp.

Hope this is what you need.

The link to Sharma's Linkedin page requires a login or signup. Probably should not include that in the Reviews page.

This is part of the page I see from that link:

I thought that information about the author's credentials was useful.

It is important but I do not want a Linkedin account and I would assume many others do not either. Jerry can add that biographical information to the reviews page without the link. So thank you for providing it.
