It just show the level of interest within the selected time period (number of clicks) and doesn't mean people are using it. However, DW is a good way to keep MX in the public eye, especially when there are new releases, updates or important announcements.

Yes, if we go back into English history, we will find the statement attributed to Disraeli : There are lies, damn lies, and statistics. We need to very careful when we look at the analysis of quoted results. The downloads of any newly released OS, should be measured over months, even years. Not just the few days after a release.

Statistics can be useful, but their interpretation must be done carefully.

What will contribute to MX's success in the long run (IMHO) is awareness. Getting MX visible enough so others are aware of it.

It's a great distro, and this is one that I fully intend on sticking with because it is so versatile, friendly and fun. DW is a good avenue for visibility, but making use of social media and other options will get MX 'out there' and I think will build a greater following.

I thought PCLinuxOS was systemd-free.

I have been distro hopping for years and I have to say that this is the one distro that has everything, does everything and all with very little problems. I have always been curious why does it take so long for a distro to move up or get more attention. I think the one poster was correct in saying that social media will have a big impact on it's popularity.

It's complicated, first of all MX was not even considered a distribution, it was a variant of antiX, second, the field is pretty crowded with Ubuntu and Debian derivatives. I think MX and antiX will do well in the future mostly because of their superior Live/Persitency/Remastering/Snapshoting features.

Thank you, AntiX and MX Developers and Testers. Without you we would still be an offshoot of AntiX. I have been using MX since the first release. I see no reason to change except, for updates. MX 16.1 will be my daily driver until MX-17 comes out. Jim205
